Humanities research is getting more digital and open, and the transformation of the style of research is forthcoming. This session raises discussion about openness from different perspectives across generations, thereby generates ideas to overcome unique challenges in humanities research and to realize "digital & open" humanities research in the future.
Open science is becoming an important issue in humanities and social sciences, and large-scale projects for building research infrastructure have also started to support open science. In addition, there is a growing expectation that a new idea such as collaboration across disciplines and beyond academia leads to the utilization and outreach of research outcome. We invite people actively working toward open science in the field of humanities and social sciences, and share case studies and future prospects with the people in the venue.
